There are considerable differences between Britain and America when it comes to houses. The buildings in which we live drop subtle and not...
Hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteApparently, the stores where I am (southern Missouri) think "international" means Asian, German, and Hispanic foods and nothing else. It's a struggle to find British products here. Though they are getting better--I've found Cadbury's and McVities biscuits and Marmite in local stores. (No British bacon still, darn it.) And Walmart has begun selling Twinings tea, though I can only get it in the small boxes. They have PG Tips and Tetley as well. I have a little of each, along with Fortnum and Mason, so there is a class conflict in my kitchen, ha ha.
I can get Heinz beans, some Irish and English cheeses from time to time, and I found Birds Custard powder, which made an expat British friend extremely happy!
I was lucky enough to run into another expat & he told me about Wegmans in Dewitt, NY that sells British goods. Well I went a bit nuts with the biscuits LOL!
