Finding America

Me and Tarah

I've written at length before about this subject, but here—for the first time—you'll get to see me whine talk about the things I miss most about England.

As ever, I should point out that I am perfectly happy living in the U.S. but occasionally—about one day out of every month—I get this overwhelming desire to just leave it all behind and go and get myself some proper fish 'n' chips from the chippy.

Watch the video below.

  1. Laurence, I don't think you would even make regionals in the Whinge for Britain trials. You seem like such a nice bloke who wants the familiarity of his native land once in while. I know I felt the same way about America when I lived in East Anglia.

I am sure people have told you about proxy servers and access to British television by now. If they haven't, I can fill you in.

  4. Having tried crumpets and Heinz Salad Creme (not together!), I can say that those must be something one has to have grown up with in order to enjoy properly. (Rather like an American missing English muffins and Kraft Miracle Whip.) But that was a response to another commenter, not to you, Laurence. You and your wife sound delightful. I enjoy her deadpan replies to your heartfelt whinges. What you're missing doesn't really seem like whinging, to tell the truth. The first commenter's second sentence says it all.
