6 U.S. National Parks I Really Want to Visit | Finding America

Recently, I've been getting hundreds of suggestions of places I should absolutely visit on my travels across America. Thanks for those! Looking down the list, it occurred to me that an overwhelming majority of your suggestions included National Parks. I really shouldn't be surprised; as a non-American growing up in England, the country's National Parks have always been a source of wonder to yours truly.

A Brit's Memory of Ohio | Remembering America

In this latest episode of Remembering America, I take a look back at some of my visits to the state of Ohio. Since all of my experiences of the Buckeye State comprise only the western portion, where do YOU think a Brit like me should visit next time I'm in the state?

The A-Z of British Slang (Song)

Something a little different in this video. It seems there's hardly a day goes by when my American friends, family, and neighbo(u)rs don't ask me the meaning of a British slang word or two. So here's a song I wrote that will guide you through the entire alphabet (almost). I hope you enjoy it! If you fancy singing along (recommended), the lyrics are listed beneath the video:

Where are the Americans?

I just returned to the Midwest after a month of traveling through Australia and Hawaii. A View From The Farce Side: We Are Not Amused! (Or Are We?)

Quite possibly the funniest man who ever lived, John Cleese, famously said that an Englishman would rather be told he’s a bad lover than that he’s not funny. Some of my fellow countrymen might share my indignity of, at some point in time, having it suggested that we’re equally inept in both disciplines. But setting sex aside for a moment – which is a phrase I never thought I’d write! – lets focus on the topic of humour (that is too the correct spelling!).

A Brit and Aussie's Visit to Millennium Park | Finding Chicago

Recently, Jack from Chicago Aussie and Laurence had what he has affectionately called 'bro time' at Millennium Park. It apparently made for a decent "arvo", as they say. We hope you enjoy it; if you'd like to see Lost in the Pond do some more collaborations with fellow expats or even Chicago locals be sure to comment on the video and let us know. In the meantime, happy (virtual) travels!
