Why advertise on Lost in the Pond?

Launched in March 2013, Lost in the Pond is a dedicated blog documenting the American experience from the point of view of British travel writer and popular YouTube host Laurence Brown. The website is purposely targeted to a highly specific demographic, which includes the following:

1. Anglophiles
2. British expats (living in the U.S.)
3. American expats (living in the UK)
4. Travelers between the UK and the U.S.

SUBSCRIBERS
Since Lost in the Pond's launch, the blog has grown exponentially, attracting dedicated subscribers throughout North America and Great Britain. These include, but are not limited, to the following:

1. Facebook (5,341 fans)
2. Twitter (2,223 followers)
3. Instagram (1,490 followers)
4. YouTube (44k+ subscribers)

RATES*

Currently, we have space for two permanent advertisements on the homepage, just below the fold on the right.


DIMENSIONS
The dimensions and their current prices per month are as follows:
  • 300x280 (standard sized ad): $120
  • 300x600 (skyscraper): $120
  • We also offer embedded ads, each sized 600x300.
For articles with impressions above 500/month:
  • $50 for mid-article ad
  • $25 for bottom of article ad
For articles with impressions above 100/month:
  • $25 for mid-article ad
  • $10 for bottom of article ad
For articles with impressions below 100/month:
  • $10 for mid-article ad
  • $5 for bottom of article ad
Lost in the Pond limits its sponsored content to one sponsored post per month, which
enables us to be creative with our post as well as tailor our content toward visitors’ interests. These are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and require half-down at the time of scheduling with the other half due at the time of release.

Social Media Mentions:
  • Our current rates are $10 per IG post, $20 per IG story, $20 per Twitter mention, and $50 per Facebook post, and they must be booked in coordination with one of the options above.
Additionally, keep in mind that Lost In The Pond does not typically post sponsored content on social media more than once per week, and these requests are also on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The current rates are subject to review at any time, and any changes will be reflected on the
next month’s invoice. Ad requests will be fulfilled only upon completion of payment.
